Linear Functions Algebra 1 Math Intervention Unit

$6.99

An editable intervention unit for Algebra 1 students who need extra practice with linear functions: notes, review, practice, error analysis and assessments.

Algebra 1 students who are struggling to understand linear functions get extra practice from this editable intervention unit. The worksheets are not meant to be used for full class lessons, although they could be if that is your preference.

Skills covered

  • Identifying linear relationships from tables, graphs and equations
  • Understanding the concept of function notation
  • Writing linear functions given tables, graphs and real world scenarios

What’s included

Each skill comes with these resources:

  • Tracking sheet, for recording the dates and scores for each activity as well as the entire unit
  • Pre and post assessment. A simple pre and post assessment is included.
  • Scaffolded notes, broken down for students to fill in the details. Since this will not be the first time students have seen the information, the notes are not as detailed as introductory notes. Two versions are included: blank and completely filled in.
  • Review sheet, with a quick review, a student input section and problems intended to be used as guided practice
  • Practice worksheet, for independent or partner practice
  • Error analysis, where each problem is solved incorrectly and students identify the error(s) and then solve correctly

How to use it

My suggestion is to keep the unit printed in a binder in your classroom. Intervention teachers, assistants and volunteers can grab it and work with a small group of students on a set of skills you designate. Students can complete the worksheets as printed sheets. You can also place the sheets in sheet protectors for reusable, dry erase practice.

Good to know

You must have PowerPoint to use the editable file. The questions and headings may be edited, but the template itself may not be edited. Instructions are provided in the download to help you edit, so read the “HOW TO EDIT” file first.
