Algebra 1 Rational Numbers Review Intervention

$24.99

An editable Algebra 1 intervention unit that reviews operations with decimals, mixed numbers and integers. It also works for grades 7 and 8.

This editable intervention unit reviews operations with rational numbers: decimals, mixed numbers and integers. These skills are not taught in an Algebra 1 course. Students do need a strong knowledge of basic operations with rational numbers in order to build toward Algebra 1 success. The unit would be a good intervention tool for grades 7 and 8 as well.

It provides extra practice resources for Algebra 1 students. The worksheets are not meant to be used for full class lessons, although they could be if that is your preference.

What’s included

Each skill comes with the following resources:

  • Tracking sheet: record the dates and scores for each activity as well as the entire unit.
  • Pre and post assessments per skill cluster: a simple pre and post assessment is included for each skill cluster.
  • Scaffolded notes: notes that have been broken down for students to fill in the details. Since this will not be the first time students have seen the information, these notes are not as detailed as introductory notes. Two versions are included, blank and completely filled in.
  • Review sheet: a quick review, a student input section and problems intended to be used as guided practice.
  • Practice worksheet: use as independent or partner practice.
  • Error analysis: each problem is solved incorrectly. Students identify the error(s) and then solve correctly.

How to use it

Keep this resource printed in a binder in your classroom. Intervention teachers, assistants or volunteers can grab it and work with a small group of students on a set of skills designated by you. Worksheets can be completed as printed sheets, or you can place them in sheet protectors and give them to students for reusable, dry erase practice.

Good to know

  • You must have PowerPoint to use the editable file.
  • The questions and headings may be edited, but the template itself may not be edited.
  • Instructions are provided in the download to help you edit. Read the “HOW TO EDIT” file first.
