Overlapping Triangles Matching – Geometry Activity

Students in high school geometry separate overlapping triangles, identify the congruent parts, and determine which congruence criteria apply. Pulling the triangles apart gives them a visual way to work on applying congruence postulates and writing proofs.

How it works

Students match and identify the overlapping triangles, mark congruent parts, and complete congruence statements. The activity also gives them practice writing and understanding proofs that involve overlapping triangles.

Use it as a warm-up, classwork, independent practice, homework, a quick assessment, or extra practice after a test.
