Linear Systems Unit Algebra 1 Curriculum

My Algebra 1 unit on linear systems is written for 30 to 45 minute class periods and includes everything from the pre-assessment through the unit exam, which keeps lesson planning quick.

Students begin by solving systems graphically. From there they move to substitution and elimination, real-world applications, identifying one solution, no solution and infinitely many solutions, and systems of linear inequalities. Throughout the unit they connect graphical and algebraic representations and learn to choose and apply an appropriate method.
