Proving Lines Parallel Cut and Paste – Geometry Activity

$2.00

Cut and paste activity for high school geometry. Students match diagrams to the converse theorems that prove lines parallel. Answer key included.

In this cut and paste activity, high school geometry students practice proving lines parallel using theorems about parallel lines and transversals. They identify which lines are parallel and determine the converse theorem that justifies the conclusion.

How it works

Students cut out the diagrams and arrange them to show the correct relationships between the lines and the theorems that prove them parallel. Physically moving the diagrams and matching each one with its reasoning gives students practice applying converse theorems to a variety of diagrams.

The activity lends itself to teamwork and discussion as students work through it.
