Percent of a Number Cooperative Learning Math Activity

In this percent of a number performance task, students in grades 6 to 9 work cooperatively and reinforce their percent skills at the same time. The setting is a restaurant.

How it works

A restaurant menu is given, and each student must order. Students then take turns being the waiter. Each waiter has different specials and a different sales tax, and must determine the total bill for their “table.”
