Fraction and Decimal Operations Halloween Math Stations | Math Centers

This Halloween math activity takes a traditional coloring page and breaks it up into six stations on fraction and decimal operations for grades 5 to 7. Four of the stations use mixed numbers and two use decimals.

Stations included

• Adding Mixed Numbers
• Subtracting Mixed Numbers
• Multiplying Mixed Numbers
• Dividing Mixed Numbers
• Adding and Subtracting Decimals
• Multiplying and Dividing Decimals

How it works

You can handle the student coloring page in one of two ways:

• Leave it as a coloring page.
• Cut up the page and put one puzzle piece at each station. Students collect the pieces and assemble their completed page at the end.

Why set it up as stations

First, students get the chance to work collaboratively and move around the room early on in the school year. Second, you are introducing how stations work and setting up a routine that will hopefully become a big part of your classroom this year.

Good to know

The station cards come in an editable format, so you can modify the questions to fit your needs. You must have PowerPoint to edit. The template itself cannot be edited.
