End-of-year Algebra 1 choice board. Students pick one skill from each strand and complete a project for each, graded with the included rubric.
With this Algebra 1 end-of-year choice board, students review important math skills and choose how they show what they have learned. In place of a traditional test review, they demonstrate their understanding through visual, written, artistic or technology-based projects.
What’s included
- Choice board with project options
- List of standards/skills students choose from
- Planning sheets to organize projects
- Student directions
- Rubric for grading
- Printable PDF
How it works
Students select one skill from each major strand and complete a project for each. That way they review the year while working in a format that fits their strengths. The strands are:
- Structure in Expressions
- Polynomials and Rational Expressions
- Creating Equations
- Equations and Inequalities
Project options include:
- Creating posters or foldables
- Writing quizzes or word problems
- Designing textbook pages
- Making presentations
- Creating songs, poems or commercials
- Designing coloring worksheets
When to use it
This works especially well during the last weeks of school or after testing, when you want students doing math without starting new content. Teachers use it as:
- An end of year math project
- An after testing activity
- An end of year review
- Small group or independent work
- Sub plans
The project gives students some ownership at the end of the year and keeps the focus on reviewing key Algebra 1 skills.
