Divisibility Rules Roll & Check – 4th Grade Math Activity

In Divisibility Rules Roll & Check, 4th grade students generate their own 3-digit numbers by rolling dice, then use the divisibility rules to test each number for divisibility by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, and 10. They record their results in a sorting grid and apply what they have learned in a bonus challenge that calls for reasoning and peer discussion.

How to use it

Because the numbers are self-generated, no two students have the same answers. Partners and small groups both work well. Students lead the activity themselves, and it builds number sense while they practice the rules.

It is low-prep and runs as a math center, a station, an early finisher task, or a whole-class game. Differentiation is built in, with extensions for advanced learners and support for struggling students.
