5th Grade Math Bullet Notes – Guided 5th Grade Math Notes

These 5th grade math notes give students room to organize their thoughts in a way that makes sense for them. Students circle, underline, bullet, color and doodle as they take notes. There is less structure here than in my traditional guided notes, and the pages are not as busy as doodle-style notes.

What’s included

40 different 5th grade math skills are included, and each one comes in a slightly structured form and a completely blank form. You are able to add, delete, duplicate and move pages to fit your students.

The download also has:

• Organization pages such as a table of contents, calendar planning pages and goal setting
• An editable template for structuring your own notes and calendar pages. PowerPoint must be installed to use the template.
• Instructional video links to help you customize either the template or the PDF itself
• A Google Slides version

Who these notes fit

Honestly, they are not good for all students. Some students need structure and need traditional guided notes. These notes are good for students who are able to take notes without so much structure.

Curriculum and answer key

On CCSS or TEKS alignment: the notes work with my 5th Grade Math Curriculum. If you are using my curriculum, they will work alongside it well and give you the opportunity to scaffold the way you give notes.

For an answer key, there are “sample” pages with answers and sample problems when applicable, taken from my 5th Grade Math Curriculum notes. Please do not make your students think their notes have to look like the sample (you should not think that either). Creativity and personality need to come into play.

Editing the notes

The PDF is not editable. A 50+ slide PowerPoint is included with all of the skill pages and blank student organization pages so you can make them your own.
