Exact reasons I took a giant pay cut and worked my butt off to get into a private school that believes in their teachers.

When I heard about teachers paying back money, essentially paying to work, I was (and still am) furious. How is that even legal?? How can our government let education be treated this way - like it doesn't matter and isn't even close to being a priority. How can our country move up in the world when we aren't educating the future generation?? Baffles my mind and I know I can't be feeling this way just bc I'm a teacher.
