Every teacher remembers an evening that changed them. For some, it was the night they realized they had spent another Sunday planning instead of being with their family. For others, it was grading papers until midnight while wondering how they were supposed to do it all again tomorrow. For Lindsay, it became the beginning of Beyond the Worksheet. She wasn’t trying to start a business. She was trying to solve a problem she was living through every day.

Like so many educators, she loved teaching. She loved helping students understand mathematics. But she also saw how much of a teacher’s life disappeared after the dismissal bell rang. Lessons still had to be created and curated. Assessments still had to be written. Activities still had to be planned. So she began creating classroom-ready resources, not to sell worksheets, but to give herself, and eventually other teachers, something far more valuable. Time.

Years later, our paths crossed in an unexpected way. I entered the classroom as a teacher myself. By then, Beyond the Worksheet had already grown into a trusted resource used by educators across the country and globally. The surprising part wasn’t that I married the person who built it but it was that I became one of its users. Our classrooms were literally next door to each other. Day after day, we relied on the very resources Lindsay had created. They weren’t theoretical. They weren’t designed in an office. They were the lessons we taught, the activities our students completed, and the assessments that helped us understand where our students needed support. I experienced something else, too. I experienced the weight that so many educators quietly carry. The planning, grading, the constant pressure to prepare tomorrow while still trying to recover from today. I came away with even greater respect for teachers and an even deeper appreciation for why Beyond the Worksheet exists.

That’s why we’re taking a fresh look at this company today. Yes, we create math resources. Yes, we design curriculum, intervention materials, activities, and assessments, but that’s not what we’re really building. We are building time creation. We believe every lesson should remove stress instead of adding it. We believe every assessment should provide clarity instead of more work. We believe every activity should help teachers spend more time teaching and less time creating.

Whether you are a classroom teacher, an intervention specialist, a homeschool parent, a tutor, an instructional coach, or a district leader, our hope is the same. When you finish using something we’ve created, you should feel more prepared, more confident, and more present for the people who matter most in your life, because we’ve come to believe something so simple. Great educational resources don’t just improve classrooms, they improve lives.

As we move into the next chapter of Beyond the Worksheet, you’ll notice some changes. We will continue creating resources, but we’ll also share more teaching strategies, practical ideas, research, and conversations about what it really means to support educators. Our mission is becoming clearer than ever. We don’t exist to sell worksheets. We exist to help educators reclaim their time so they can focus on what matters most: helping students learn and still having a life outside the classroom. If you’ve trusted Beyond the Worksheet over the years, thank you. If you’re discovering us for the first time, welcome.

We’re honored to be part of your story.

And we’re just getting started.

-Aaron
